Grief Therapist Teresa Jex Teresa’s approach is eclectic as she draws from many theoretical approaches to counseling. Just as grief has many different faces, her pragmatic method allows her to use the approach that she feels will be best for each unique client. This approach is an insight-focused therapy that emphasizes recognizing and changing negative thoughts and maladaptive beliefs and is grounded in cognitive behavioral approaches and gestalt therapy. Often times this therapy includes systematic desensitization, relaxation techniques, modeling and the use of experiential homework assignments.
I have over 23 years experience working in the Mental Health field serving clients ranging from 5 to 95 years old. Grieving and bereavement is delicately woven throughout every aspect and stage of our lives. In the loss of a loved one, healing and renewing of life can be embraced with guidance and nurturing from others.
